We are glad to introduce you to a brand new feature called Mentions. Tag a user in a document and enhance collaboration opportunities by allowing users to easily reference and notify team members. This feature improves workflow efficiency and ensures that all concerned parties are included in the conversation, streamlining communication.
In order to mention someone in your file, first of all, open it in the Editor, and then select the Comment tool from the Editor's toolbar. After placing the comment on the page, a comment box will appear.
Entering the "@" symbol will show a mentions suggestion box that includes all people within the organizations you've been invited to. The suggestion box recognizes a user by name or email. The tag can be placed in any part of the comment (before text, after, or in the middle). Multiple users can be tagged in the same comment. When you hover over the tag, a full email address will be shown.
If a tagged user doesn't have access to the document, a module with permissions will appear, suggesting sharing the document with the user. The roles are the same as in a traditional “Share the document” modal.
For more information, please check Share or send documents and PDFs
Note: Users with the “Viewer” role cannot tag other users since they don’t have a toolbar. Users with the “Contributor” role will see this modal if they mention a user without access to the document.
The tagged user will be notified via email and in the Notification section on DocHub.
